This paper is basically an attempt to apply the new technologies to the educational field, computers for language teaching in this case. The author starts from the fact that the use of CALL (that is "Computer Assisted Language Learning") is almost non-existent in our classrooms. This is analyzed in the Introduction, references being made to a recent Report published by the Spanish Ministery of Education to this respect. Next, after a brief survey of the advantages, drawback and possibilities of the use of computers in the foreing language classroom, the author tries to give a satisfactory answer to a twofold question: evaluation and assessment of CALL in general and that of two specific programs in particular ("My English Partner" and "Gapmaster") as to their practical utility, thus contributing to fill the gap existing at present in research in this area of teaching. With this aim, a teaching experience eas carried out with 134 students from 3º BUP, and COU, at the I.B. "Alhambra" of Granada, during the first term of the academic year 1991-92. The present article is the product of that experiment. Finally, after the discussion and assessment of the results obtained, the paper concludes encouraging teachers to get rid of the excessive "respect", they presently have towards the computer as an educational tool, evaluating positively its use as a powerful help in the foreign language teaching process.

A commentary about two recently published books, Foucault and Education, ed. by S. Ball and Arqueología de la Escuela, written by Julia Varela and Fernando Alvarez-Uría, is useful to evaluate the scope of Michel Foucault's genealogical method in the field of the educational research. The use of that kind of analysis, which understands the educational action as a collection of practices that procduce the subject, allows to make a diagnosis of the limits in the teaching reforms started in the last years by western countries.

I try to make know the origin and social evolution of the Lichts, whose lineage is historiographically, hardly known, and i intend to incorporate them into the group of Flemish families that had settled down in Andalusia and about whom a lot has been written. It is necessary to remark that the genealogy of the family should not be cloistered or enclosed, because as it was mentioned above, the possible descent of some of its members (not many) lests an open door to the existence of other lines. The ignorance or lack of information about these hypothetic lines should not lead us to exclude them, something that has occurred too frequently in other genealogical studies. Any research is perfectible.

The number of Church establishements in Cádiz bishopric for young men and girls education during the second half of the 18th century was small and they were set up due to the general interest that the enlightenment had awakened: the Congregation of "Religiosas de la Enseñanza" established in the Isla de León since 1760, the Carmen School since 1787, the so called "Beaterio" of Alcalá de los Gazules since 1797, and the one of Dominicas of Jimena since the same date.

Analyzing the difficulties posed by several groups dealing with research-interaction, one comes to the conclusion that for safety's sake and from the old pattern of technical rationality, they try to resettle a proposal inserted in a different pattern questioning the old system of certainties. For this reason, without suplying new supports and the epistemological breaking. Research-in-Action is doomed to be reduced to simple appearance. this is the starting-point of a second-rate research-in-action meant to ease its integration into the practical thinking of teachers.

Lenguaje, interacción y sociedad
Serón Muñoz, Juan Manuel

The wiew of man as a social being, cannot be detached from his most basic dimension, that is communication and language, both specific qualities to the human being and his conceptual thought. And this is so much so that child humanization is only feasible through language learning, since speechless children not only are unable to express their thoughts but they are even deprived from the human thinking dimension. Their learning and development is realized through "social interaction", by inculturation of the social agents. This is the kind of study and analysis brought about by the author of this article, where he offers different approaches to the question as well to the value and significance of the familiar an educational context.

El ordenador en la escuela
Alcalde Cuevas, Concepción; Avila Carretero, Isabel; González Ferreras, Carmen; Marchena Consejero, Esperanza; Ramiro Olivier, Pedro

This paper seeks to analyse the influence of new technologies on the teaching-learning process thorugh a survey of the use of compuers by primary school teachers in the province of Cádiz, A questionnaire with 14 items was distributed among different primary schools.

Computers in primary schools are mainly used for management purposes. As to their educational use, this is nearly restricted to the higher level pupils, being hardly used in lower levels. Teachers consider computers a helpful and motivational agent in the teaching-learning process and they usually request to be better equipped with this kind of technology.
